I like this lovely inspiring book for an older child. The old world illustrations are wonderful, but little ones won’t appreciate most of them. It’s odd because the limited print on each page would be understood by a 4-5 year old. However, the harder to follow script, which spirals or is set vertically, is on a much higher conceptional and reading level. I’d think that the young reader would either have be 7-8 or grow into this book over time. The book is great, deserves 5 stars. Exactly the content I was looking for however the paper cover was curled up and bent and even after a long time of keeping it pressed down It's still not flat. I was led to believe this was the last copy from the seller when I purchased but saw another one up for sale after I already bought this one for a lower price.I returned the first copy because text and pictures were bound into the spline of the book. Second copy exactly the same. How could it win a Caldecott prize if it's so poorly bound?! However the pictures and text are beautifully done and we'll just have to forget trying to read/see the parts that are bound into the cover. (not a serious complaint, but annoying nonetheless.)BEWARE. This is not the book written by Galileo, it is ABOUT him. Seems intentionally misleading to use the same title. It is well illustrated and cute so I don't give it 1A book for adults written on a second or third grade level. Nice colorful drawings but written on a 'See Spot run, run Spot run' theme. Now worth the price. Thumb through it once and you're done. Good for taking up space on a shelf.Beautiful illustrations and has all the basic information about this great scientist. The text is not easy to read but I enjoyed it anyway. It Arrived with no cover. I was misled.Beautiful illustrations and love Sis' perspective.
