I bought this to scan some historic journals, diaries and photo albums. It's easy to set up and use, but the scan quality just isn't up to scratch. I was able to get a better image by simply hand-holding my iPhone Xr a few inches above the page.The first attached image is from the scanner, with all the quality settings pushed up to max. The second is a quick snap with my iPhone. First is image is cropped so that it is comparable.Another issue is that shiny pages will cause a direct back reflection due to the position of the LEDs, making scanning impossible (third image).This scanner would be adequate for scanning items where the quality of scanned illustrations wasn't an issue, and where the content needed to be readable but didn't need to look good.Hooray for Amazon's returns policy.Edit: Amazon doesn't display the images in the order I put them up - but you get the idea. The good one is from my phone.
